President Trump mocks low Emmy ratings on Twitter
How does the leader of the free world relax after making a major speech to the United Nations?
After calling the leader of North Korea "Rocket Man" in front of the United Nations General Assembly, in a speech Factcheck.org called "misleading," President Trump chilled by sticking a Twitter knife to the back of Sunday's Emmy awards — a show filled with pointed criticism towards Trump.
Trump did it all with an extra twist of angry sarcasm.
"I was saddened to see how bad the ratings were on the Emmys last night - the worst ever," Trump wrote, suggesting his supporter base sat out the awards show. "Smartest people of them all are the 'DEPLORABLES.'"
Trump wasn't entirely off about this.
The 69th Primetime Emmy Awards hosted by Stephen Colbert averaged 11.4 million same-day viewers Sunday on CBS, flat compared to last year's record low.
Colbert was praised for his hosting performance, which featured a cameo by former White House press secretary Sean Spicer which mocked Trump.
