Rain causing traffic crashes throughout Collier County

A rainy Wednesday morning has caused numerous crashes throughout Collier County.

Traffic remained backed up at Airport-Pulling and Immokalee roads after a crash around 7:45 a.m. The Sheriff's Office reported no injuries.

Other wrecks were at Piper and Palm River boulevards just after 8 a.m.; Pine Ridge and Livingston roads at 8:20 a.m.; a wreck at Airport and Radio roads at 7:30 a.m.; a serious wreck on the southbound Interstate 75 off-ramp at Pine Ridge Road around 7:50 a.m.

Deputies urge residents to drive slower when roads are wet, especially when it hasn't rained in a while because oil already on the roadway mixes with rain to create a very slick pavement.
