UPDATE: Andrea Badillo-Ocasio,19, of Naples, died, according to a news release Wednesday. Badillo-Ocasio was injured in a two-vehicle ATV crash in Golden Gate Estates on Saturday, Feb. 25.

The investigation continues, according to the news release.

A 19-year-old Naples woman was critically injured in a two-vehicle ATV crash in Golden Gate Estates on Saturday night, the Florida Highway Patrol reported Sunday.

Andrea Badillo-Ocasio was driving a 2017 Yamaha ATV northbound on 10th Street Southeast, south of Golden Gate Boulevard, at 8:20 p.m, the report said.

Mario Cepero-Ricardo, 23, of Naples, was also driving northbound on 10th Street Southeast when the front left tire of Badillo-Ocasio's ATV struck the front right tire of Cepero-Ricardo’s 2014 Yamaha ATV, the FHP said.

Badillo-Ocasio’s handlebars “wobbled,” and she became “detached from the vehicle,” according to the news release.

The woman fell on the road in the southbound lane of 10th Street Southeast, and her ATV rolled to a final rest facing east in a front yard in the 300 block of 10th Street Southeast.

Andrea Badillo-Ocasio was taken to NCH North Naples Hospital with critical injuries, the FHP said.

The report said alcohol was not a related factor and that the crash was under investigation.
