People interested in homemade mosquito repellents are snatching up as much eucalyptus and citronella as they can because it's a natural repellent.

Area stores that sell essential oils in soaps, lotions and the raw extract itself say items are flying off the shelves.

"We've definitely had a lot of interest lately, especially with the Zika craze kind of going on right now. Eucalyptus is good," said Patricia Fernandez, regional sales manager for Naples Soap Company.

Eucalyptus and citronella are essential oils in some Naples Soap Company products.

The company's store has been selling out of the ingredients and so has Ada's Natural Market in Fort Myers.
